deputy rolande ngo issi secures key role in Cameroon’s superior council of magistracy

A significant development in Cameroon’s political and judicial landscape sees the Honorable Rolande Ngo Issi, a Deputy from the PCRN, appointed to the esteemed Superior Council of Magistracy. This presidential decree, issued on June 2, 2026, marks the official entry of Cabral Libii’s Cameroonian Party for National Reconciliation (PCRN) into the nation’s governance, operating alongside the ruling RDPC.

The new appointments to the Superior Council of Magistracy include several prominent figures. Among them are Sali Dahirou, former Minister of Public Service, and Soppo Toute Marlyse, a RDPC Deputy representing Wouri. Also joining the council are Claude Francis Moukouri, previously the Vice President of the Special Criminal Tribunal (TCS), alongside Albert Ekono Nna, Engelbert Bengono, Mekoulou Cunégonde Christine épouse Ngotty, and Roger Sockeng.

Rolande Ngo Issi, born in Yaoundé on January 9, 1981, brings a wealth of experience to her new role. She concurrently serves as a Deputy in the National Assembly, holds an alternate membership in the Superior Council of Magistracy through presidential nomination by Paul Biya, and is the Deputy Secretary-General for the Network of Women Parliamentarians of Cameroon. Her influence extends within the PCRN, where she is a member of the National Steering Committee and the Secretary-General for the party’s Central Region delegation. Furthermore, since April 2016, she has led the National Consumers Movement (MNC) as its national president.

Her academic background is equally diverse, encompassing a Master’s degree in Child Psychology from the University of Yaoundé 1 – Nkoa Ekele, a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Yaoundé 2 – Soa, and a diploma from the Higher Teacher Training College (ENS). Beyond her political career, Rolande Ngo Issi is a dedicated entrepreneur and a personal development coach, having spent eleven years teaching in rural communities.

Ms. Ngo Issi is widely recognized for her active engagement on social media, where she inspires thousands of followers, particularly encouraging Cameroonian youth and promoting entrepreneurship. Her voice resonates strongly in national debates, as evidenced by her recent participation in discussions concerning budgetary orientation. During this intervention, she critically questioned the efficacy of import substitution policies, highlighting persistent challenges such as unreliable electricity, unstable internet connectivity, poor communication networks, burdensome taxation, and the need for a truly just judicial system. These were her pointed inquiries during her address.

In a notable exchange, she also directly challenged the Minister of Finance regarding the issue of police officers who have not received their due advancements since 2017. She underscored the disparity, stating, “It certainly does not escape you that since 2017, no salary advancement has been processed for the Police, while in the army, it is automatic.”
