Corlay Côte d’Ivoire marks six decades of hydrocarbons leadership

Corlay Côte d’Ivoire, formerly known as Texaco, has kicked off a year-long celebration to honor six decades of operations. The milestone event was launched at a formal gathering held on May 6, 2026, at its headquarters in the Vridi industrial zone of Abidjan. Over the next 12 months, the company plans a series of activities designed to highlight its legacy, innovation, and commitment to energy excellence in Côte d’Ivoire and the wider West African region.

During the ceremony, Alassane Ouattara, the company’s Managing Director, reflected on the journey of the past 60 years. He emphasized the group’s ongoing modernization efforts to meet the evolving demands of the energy sector. The 2026-2030 strategic plan, he explained, centers on four key pillars: strengthening governance, nurturing human capital, accelerating digital transformation, and fostering sustainable growth that creates lasting value.

« These six decades represent more than a timeline—they are a testament to trust, resilience, and dedication to our customers, partners, and employees, » said Ouattara. « Our ambition is to carry this forward with responsibility and determination, shaping the future of Corlay Côte d’Ivoire. » The company will host a variety of events throughout the year, including promotional campaigns, community engagement initiatives, and social projects aimed at deepening its connection with clients and stakeholders.

Mohamed Touré, a senior executive, underscored the company’s adaptability to shifting energy market dynamics. He highlighted Corlay’s strategic positioning in industrial, maritime, and lubricant sectors, while reaffirming the company’s goal to expand its footprint across Côte d’Ivoire. With over 60 service stations nationwide, a lubricant production capacity of 16,000 tons, and a solid presence in local and regional markets, the company has cemented its role as a key player in West Africa’s energy landscape.

Charting a sustainable future

The anniversary celebrations are set to showcase Corlay Côte d’Ivoire’s growth and innovation while charting a course for future development. The company is determined to solidify its leadership in maritime fueling, high-value lubricants, and advanced energy solutions—an increasingly critical focus as energy challenges take center stage across West Africa.

Over the next five years, the company’s strategic vision includes expanding its operational capacity, adopting cutting-edge technologies, and reinforcing its commitment to environmental and social responsibility. By aligning its business goals with sustainable practices, Corlay Côte d’Ivoire aims to play a pivotal role in shaping the region’s energy future.
