The Ministry of Environment, Fisheries and Sustainable Development has issued a sweeping directive prohibiting all forestry and water agents from donning military uniforms, insignia, ranks, berets or any other armed forces paraphernalia.
In a formal circular dated July 6, 2026, signed by the ministry’s Secretary-General, Koularambaye Koundja Julien, the ban targets both seconded military personnel and civilian staff who have adopted the insignia of the Chadian National Army (ANT).
Violators will face immediate disciplinary action. Department heads across central and regional offices have been instructed to enforce the measure without delay.
