Military authorities from Chad and the Central African Republic are ramping up efforts to enhance security along their shared border. A high-level meeting led by Brigadier General Moubarak Abakar Nassour Hor assessed the outcomes of recent joint operations conducted by the mixed-force contingent tasked with border security.
The gathering brought together key military officials from both nations to review the progress of operations Al-Hamamia 1 and Al-Hammia 2, alongside discussions on persistent security challenges in vulnerable border towns.
During the talks, strategies were outlined to expand the deployment of defense and security units in high-risk areas. Brigadier General Moubarak Abakar Nassour Hor, commander of the Chad-Central African Republic joint force, endorsed the operational blueprint for the upcoming mission, Sentinelle, developed by the G5 Sahel cell.
The new initiative involves the positioning of additional military units, complemented by fixed and mobile surveillance posts. Its primary goals include tightening control over suspicious movements, accelerating joint response times, and reinforcing cross-border security collaboration.
According to Brigadier General Moubarak Abakar Nassour Hor, the Sentinelle operation is designed to safeguard communities residing along the border and more effectively address the region’s evolving security threats.
