The Ministry of Living Environment and Transport has granted an additional window for civil engineers in Bénin to enroll in the National Order of Civil Engineers. This update gives qualified professionals a further 30 days to complete their mandatory registration through the government’s digital portal.
Minister Georges Alé confirmed the extension in a recent administrative circular, citing the regulatory framework established by Decree No. 2021-300 of June 9, 2021. This decree serves as the legal foundation for the organization and oversight of civil engineering practices within the country.

The call for registration is directed at Bénin nationals, whether they are currently based at home or abroad. Eligible candidates must possess a design engineering degree, a professional master’s degree validated by the state and CAMES, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the authorities.
The registration drive encompasses various specialized branches of the field, such as:
- Building and public works (BTP)
- Geotechnical studies and transport infrastructure
- Hydraulics and energy-related infrastructure
- Environmental engineering and sanitation
- Telecommunications, electronics, and computer engineering
Qualified engineers are instructed to finalize their applications via the official online platform. This 30-day extension is a vital phase in the government’s effort to establish the first official roll of the National Order of Civil Engineers, ensuring that the profession is properly regulated and recognized across the nation.
