Arsenal FC’s Belgian international winger Leandro Trossard has officially completed his move to Turkish giants Besiktas, ending a productive three-and-a-half-year spell in North London. The 31-year-old attacker, whose contributions included 36 goals and 34 assists in 174 appearances for the Gunners, has been granted permission to travel to Istanbul for a medical examination and finalize the transfer paperwork.
The London-based club confirmed they had reached a financial agreement with the Turkish side, paving the way for Trossard’s switch to the Süper Lig. Besiktas wasted no time showcasing their new acquisition, posting a photograph on social media of the player in the club’s iconic black-and-white jersey alongside president Serdal Adali.
Trossard’s arrival in Istanbul comes after a standout season in which he helped Arsenal reach the UEFA Champions League final and secured third-place finishes in both the Premier League and FA Cup. With the Belgian national team, he has also made a significant impact, scoring twice during their World Cup campaign that culminated in a quarter-final finish.
From London to Istanbul: a new chapter begins
The departure marks a fresh start for Trossard, who now joins a Besiktas squad preparing for another push in domestic and European competitions. His experience, versatility, and proven goal-scoring ability will be valuable assets as the Turkish club aims to reclaim its position among the league’s top contenders.
A proven performer on the pitch
During his time at Arsenal, Trossard established himself as a reliable and creative attacking threat, capable of playing across the front line. His technical ability, quick feet, and composure in front of goal made him a fan favorite at the Emirates Stadium. Now, he looks to bring that same energy and skill to the vibrant atmosphere of Vodafone Park.
