Amara Diouf back in training, Fenerbahçe move nears completion

Senegal football is set to welcome back one of its brightest prospects. After an extended recovery period, Amara Diouf has resumed training with Génération Foot, and a transfer to Turkish side Fenerbahçe is looking increasingly likely.

The young forward made a lasting impression during the 2023 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Algeria, which Senegal won. Named the tournament’s best player, he was quickly touted as a future star of African football.

According to Badara Sarr, the injury has not diminished the player’s potential in the slightest.

“He is a boy with enormous qualities. He can make a difference on the flanks, create danger, and score goals. His profile is very rare,” Sarr stated.

The former Casa Sports coach is also optimistic about the likely move to Turkey.

“Fenerbahçe presents a great challenge. It is a demanding environment, but Amara has the mental strength needed to succeed. We just need to give him time to regain his best form.”

When asked whether the young attacker can follow in the footsteps of Sadio Mané, Badara Sarr expressed confidence:

“He has the potential to build an exceptional career. Now, it will mainly depend on his ability to stay physically fit and play consistently.”
