The spokesperson for Chad’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ibrahim Adam Mahamat, has forcefully refuted over the past weekend claims alleging a destabilization plot against the Central African Republic allegedly orchestrated by N’Djamena’s government.
Chadian diplomacy dismissed these accusations as part of a deliberate disinformation campaign aimed at tarnishing Chad’s reputation and undermining its ties with its Central African neighbor.
In a statement issued with unwavering determination, the Ministry condemned these disinformation maneuvers in the strongest terms, urging those responsible to exercise accountability while calling on media outlets and social media users to prioritize verified facts over speculative narratives.
Chad has never been involved in, is not involved in, and will never be involved in any subversive activity targeting a neighboring state, the country’s Foreign Affairs Department emphasized in its rebuttal. The statement underscored the Republic’s longstanding commitment to sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the principle of non-interference, highlighting how Chad’s stability is intrinsically linked to peace in the wider subregion.
President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno’s administration places paramount importance on these principles, reinforcing Chad’s role as a stabilizing force in Central Africa. The country, however, continues to face persistent accusations from various regional governments, particularly concerning its alleged support for armed factions—such as the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), currently engaged in conflict with Sudan’s military since April 15, 2023.
