Private sector pushes for voice in Cameroon’s 2027 budget decisions

On 24 June 2026, the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Handicrafts of Cameroon (Ccima) brought together private sector representatives to draft recommendations ahead of the 2027 finance law.

The consultation aimed to gather, analyse and align the concerns of economic operators ahead of scheduled talks with the General Directorate of Taxes (DGI). Central topics included improving the national tax system, boosting business competitiveness and enhancing the overall business climate. Around twenty proposals emerged from the sessions.

This initiative is part of broader efforts to strengthen public-private dialogue and promote a tax framework better suited to Cameroon’s economic realities.
