Gabon: 7mp party wraps up 20-day national tour to boost grassroots support

Following a 20-day journey through all nine provinces of Gabon, Joël Ngoueneni Ndzengouma, founder and president of the Party for the 7 Wonders of the Gabonese People (7MP), outlined the outcomes of an initiative that went far beyond mere grassroots outreach. By reorganizing local party structures, verifying membership counts, and reinforcing the Oligui Nguema 100% Movement (MON 100), the tour underscored the 7MP’s ambition to solidify its position within the presidential majority during the Fifth Republic.

Between June 4 and 23, 2026, Joël Ngoueneni Ndzengouma traversed the country from end to end, engaging with party members, supporters, local leaders, and citizens. During a press conference at the 7MP headquarters in Libreville, he described the tour as a key element of a broader strategy to reinvigorate the political party and bolster backing for President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema. Founded in 2010, the 7MP now positions itself as part of the presidential movement. The MON 100, launched in February 2025, aims to support the president’s reforms and galvanize public involvement.

A nationwide political restructuring effort

The tour was not only about meeting people; its core objective was to overhaul the party’s organizational framework nationwide. 7MP representatives stated that the mission enabled a precise inventory of active members, welcomed new adherents, pinpointed fresh local leaders, and reinforced provincial coordination units. Furthermore, the MON 100 leveraged the tour to expand its presence across all nine provinces, seeking to unite more citizens behind the president’s vision.

According to Joël Ngoueneni Ndzengouma, the tour comes at a time when the institutions of the Fifth Republic are being set up. Discussions with party members served to reiterate the 7MP’s role as a loyal ally of the president and to reaffirm support for the reforms initiated during the Transition. This effort reflects wider shifts in Gabon’s political scene, as various parties aim to strengthen their grassroots foothold following the presidential, legislative, and local elections.

Future steps on the ground

Following the mission, the 7MP unveiled plans for continued growth: reinforcing provincial coordination, organizing more community gatherings, solidifying the MON 100 structure, and creating a permanent channel to collect citizen feedback.

More than just a logistical review, the tour marks a milestone in the 7MP’s strategy to entrench itself within the presidential majority and align with the Fifth Republic’s political direction, all while deepening its connection with communities nationwide.
