Chad and Libya edge closer to launching direct flights between N’Djamena and Benghazi
Bilateral ties between Chad and Libya are strengthening across economic and consular fronts, with plans for a new direct air link connecting N’Djamena and Benghazi taking shape.
During a meeting in Benghazi on July 13, 2026, Libya’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Abdelhadi Al-Houij, received Chad’s Consul General, Mr. Hassan Ahmat Daissire, alongside Mr. Aboubakar Sidick Mahamat Abagana, Consular Attaché. The discussions focused on deepening bilateral cooperation in consular services, trade, transportation, and digital connectivity. A proposed direct air route between N’Djamena and Benghazi emerged as a key priority to boost mobility and bilateral exchanges.
Also on the agenda was the coordinated return of Chadian nationals, with both sides aligning efforts alongside international agencies. The two governments reaffirmed their commitment to nurturing the long-standing, fraternal relationship between Chad and Libya, emphasizing shared goals and mutual growth.
