High-level diplomatic engagement marks a turning point in Burkina Faso-Benin relations
The President of Faso, His Excellency Captain Ibrahim Traoré, held a crucial working session this Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at the Koulouba Palace with His Excellency Romuald Wadagni, President of Benin, who was on an official visit to Ouagadougou.
Following their tête-à-tête, the two heads of state jointly emphasized that President Wadagni’s visit represents a pivotal moment in revitalizing bilateral cooperation. Their discussions focused on deepening trust, fostering solidarity, and addressing shared challenges through coordinated approaches. A communiqué issued by Burkina Faso’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Karamoko Jean Marie Traoré, highlighted the constructive nature of the talks and the mutual commitment to strengthening ties.
Security cooperation takes center stage in regional discussions
The deteriorating security landscape in West Africa dominated the agenda.
