The Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (JNIM) has categorically refuted claims surrounding the demise of Sidna Ag Hita, its deputy leader and a close associate of Iyad Ag Gali. These assertions emerged shortly after the Africa Legion announced a targeted strike on a camp near Diabali, located in central Mali.
Reliable sources within the JNIM have confirmed to local reporters that Ag Hita remains unharmed and is in good health. They emphasized that the reports of his death lack credible evidence, adding that no official statement from the group has confirmed any casualties or injuries resulting from the alleged attack.
The Africa Legion released a statement on Wednesday detailing the operation, which involved an airstrike and rocket fire on a rural encampment linked to the armed faction. According to their account, intelligence gathered prior to the raid suggested Ag Hita was present at the targeted site during the strike.
