Côte d’Ivoire unveils new farm-gate prices for 2026-2027 coffee-cocoa campaign

Abidjan, August 31, 2026 – The highly anticipated 2026-2027 coffee-cocoa campaign is set to officially commence on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. This significant launch coincides with the 10th annual National Cocoa and Chocolate Days (JNCC), an event scheduled to take place at the Abidjan Exhibition Park, where crucial farm-gate prices will be announced.

The new pricing structure is expected to be unveiled by Vice-President Tiémoko Meyliet Koné, acting on behalf of President Alassane Ouattara, a move that underscores the government’s commitment to the agricultural sector.

For the preceding main campaign of 2025-2026, which spanned from October 2025 to February 2026, the farm-gate price for cocoa had reached an unprecedented 2,800 FCFA per kilogram. However, the subsequent intermediate campaign, running from March to August 2026, saw a significant adjustment, with prices lowered to 1,200 FCFA per kilogram. Côte d’Ivoire solidifies its position as the world’s foremost cocoa producer, contributing an estimated 40% to the global supply. National production for the 2025-2026 campaign was approximately 2.2 million tonnes. Looking ahead to the 2026-2027 campaign, the prospects for production could face challenges from adverse climatic conditions and the aging of existing cocoa plantations. Some market analyses project a potential decrease in Ivorian output, estimating it to fall to approximately 1.8 million tonnes.
